No Elephants For You!
Dinosaur Jr will be hitting just about every city in America on their fall tour, including a stop at the Pageant on October 14. Farm, their second reunion album (out now via Jagjaguwar) starts right where 2007’s surprisingly good Beyond left off. If their live show is half as good as their latest video for “Over It”, then I’m all [...]

If the non-performance at the Firebird and the subsequent apology by the Crocodiles left a bad taste in your mouth, might I suggest viewing their fresh new video for “Summer of Hate”. The video for the title track off their new album via Fat Possum may or may not make you feel better, but the title seems somewhat fitting.

It’s a typically slow summer release day, but Wilco (The Album) overshadows everything else anyway. I think the seventh offering from Wilco is one of their strongest yet, piggy-backing off the simple beauty of Sky Blue Sky the guys turned it up a notch and made a bare-bones true-to-form Wilco record. This week also finds Spoon sneaking in a small EP titled [...]
A friend of mine introduced me to Dawes with a video of the guys playing “When My Time Comes” from this year’s SXSW. I think I watched the video a total of 20 times that day, it’s simply an electric performance from a band with a ton of soul. North Hills the debut LP from Dawes is set to be [...]
The Wavves just released a new video for the track “No Hope Kids” from their self-titled LP. Pete Ohs directed the video, which was shot primarily while the guys were on their first European tour. Jump on over here to check it out. Here’s, “So Bored”, another track from the Fat Possum-released Wavves:

Here are the recommended shows for the week. Let me know what shows you’ll be attending and if you think something is missing from the list. I’d love to take a Columbia road trip tonight, but I don’t see it happening.
Upcoming STL Shows:
